The initial attraction, the motivation for that first class, was all about the physical aspects. To get stronger and more flexible, to learn the power contained in a simple breath and to learn to connect with my body.

It’s still my primary motivation but I’ve found that yoga helps me navigate life. That getting better at doing yoga is a bonus—the real magic is how yoga helps me get better at life.

I’m learning to resist self criticism and self judgement. To find gratitude and acceptance. To believe in myself. To be my own best friend (because I am the only one guaranteed to be by my side on this lifelong journey). To find my power, both physical and mental.
